Mathematical proficiency entails reasoning, conceptual understanding, and procedural fluency. Each of these competencies set the foundation for mathematical reasoning. This training session will provide participants with strategies to promote children’s mathematical thinking skills and facilitate their understanding of math concepts. Teachers will receive ideas for encouraging investigation, inquiry and mathematical problem solving.
