Child Care Forums

The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) offers Nutrition and Physical Activity (NPA) which highlight and demonstrate methods for integrating nutrition education, edible gardens, wellness policies, and physical activity into child care centers and homes and Meal Quality (MQ) forums that provide a unique platform where early childhood educators can express challenges and develop solutions toward supporting active living and healthy eating environments.

Desired Results for Children and Families

The Desired Results system is designed to improve the quality of programs and services provided to all children from birth through 12 years of age enrolled in early care and education programs, before-and after-school programs, and their families.

Family Child Care at Its Best (FCCB)

FCCB offers no-cost workshops for home-based providers, blending research-informed practices with opportunities for home-based providers to share their expertise and connect with peers to improve their knowledge, skills, and quality of care. FCCB offers workshops directly to home-based providers, through local training agencies that host FCCB workshops, and a train-the-trainer system.
