The PTKLFs outline key knowledge and skills that most children ages 3 to 5 1/2 years old can achieve when provided with the kinds of interactions, instruction, and environments that research has shown to promote early learning and development. The foundations can provide preschool and transitional kindergarten (TK) educators, parents, and the public with a clear understanding of the wide range of knowledge and skills that children typically attain when given the benefits of a high-quality preschool program, whether it be in center-based, home-based, or TK settings.

Inclusion training is based on information from Inclusion Works! Creating Child Care Programs That Promote Belonging for Children With Disabilities, Second Edition. The focus is on defining inclusive practice, describing collaboration, and sharing practical strategies. It is intended for child care settings for children from birth through age 12. Resources are included in the appendices and in a list of web links on the California MAP to Inclusion & Belonging website.
Talking With Parents About Concerns training provides a framework for caregivers who are
- concerned that a child in their care might have a developmental delay, disability, or significant behavioral problem,
- preparing to share concerns with a child’s parents or family members (anyone raising the child), or
- discovering different ways family members will receive and act on the expressed concern.
