Young children develop geometric concepts and spatial reasoning based on their environments, interactions with adults, other children, as well as daily observations of the world around them. Participants will explore the California Preschool Learning Foundations in Mathematics with a focus on geometry. Information will be presented on how to develop a young child’s understanding of geometric thinking through play and exploration of classroom objects.
