This professional learning session highlights perceptual-motor skills and movement.  We will look at ways movement can support the physical, cognitive, and emotional development of young children and how perceptual-motor behavior is the critical building block for proficiency in movement activities. This professional learning session is specifically designed to capitalize on the motivation of young children to learn through physical activity.  The goal is to provide TK teachers with developmentally, culturally, and age appropriate strategies that can promote body, spatial, and directional awareness.  Participants will be using CDE resources and the Preschool Learning Foundations and Preschool Curriculum Framework to develop intentional plans for more movement activities in their classroom environment.
