This professional learning session will provide TK teachers exposure to California Department of Education (CDE) resources that support transitional kindergarten curriculum planning, developmentally appropriate strategies, and classroom environment design recommendations that support the content of the Earth Science Strand. During this session, participants will gain an understanding of Earth Sciences, which covers properties, and characteristics of earth material and objects and changes in the Earth.  Key concepts addressed include, strategies for nurturing child curiosity, developing basic inquiry skills, and scientific exploration. Participants will engage each of these concepts within the context of developmentally appropriate practices, effective environments and interactions.
