Approximately 42 percent of California kindergarten children were identified as children who are English learners in the 2006-2007 school year. Recent reports estimate that about 39 percent of all children ages three to five are English learners.

This professional learning session is specifically designed to provide TK teachers exposure to California Department of Education (CDE) Resources that support transitional kindergarten curriculum planning, developmentally appropriate strategies, and classroom environment design recommendations that support English language development.
