This training explores how playful experiences with sounds help build young children’s phonological awareness and lay a foundation for later reading and writing. Participants will explore developmentally appropriate strategies—including rhymes, songs, wordplay, beginning sounds, and sound blending—that can be easily incorporated into everyday routines to make language learning fun and engaging.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Gain an understanding of phonological awareness.
  • Determine the development of phonological awareness in children aged three to five-and-a-half years.
  • Identify practices to support the development of children’s phonological awareness.
