Boxes and Big Ideas: Playing With STEAM & Inquiry invites educators to rediscover the power of simple materials—especially boxes—as catalysts for imagination, engineering, storytelling, and inquiry‑driven learning. Grounded in Count, Play, Explore (CPE) concepts, this session highlights how early math, playful exploration, and hands‑on discovery naturally emerge when children interact with open‑ended materials. Through rich children’s literature and collaborative design challenges, participants will transform everyday boxes into launchpads for STEAM thinking, creative problem‑solving, and joyful inquiry. Educators will engage in activities that blend science, technology, engineering, arts, and math with movement, storytelling, early math conversations, and culturally responsive play. Together, we will nurture curiosity, creativity, early math thinking, and essential 21st‑century skills through experiences that honor children’s natural drive to count, play, and explore.
