The focus of this professional learning session is Number Sense. The goal is to promote important aspects of counting, number relationships, and operations in curriculum planning. This session is designed to give TK teachers strategies that are intentional, age, developmentally and culturally appropriate. Participants will use CDE Resources such as the Preschool Learning Foundations and the Preschool Curriculum Framework to explore terminology, compare age level progress, identify developmental sequences, and discuss multiple ways that mathematics content can be represented in their classrooms. Strategies to address universal design and accommodate dual language students will be reviewed as well. Time will be provided to share ideas and discuss ways to engage families.
