For transitional kindergarten (TK) aged students, current research indicates that knowing the letters of the alphabet is related to both short-and-long term reading proficency. Knowledge of letter names facilities children's ability to decode text and to apply the alphabetic principle to word recognition. Receiving information on learning expectations for CA TK students, and receive practical, experiential strategies to daily support alphabetic and word print recognition.
TK Professional Learning Program is provided by grant funds, at NO COST to participants.
