Region 9 - CPIN: Preschool Transitional Kindergarten Learning Foundations - Science - In Person

November 17, 2025 5:00pm to 8:00pm

The Science concepts and skills children develop in early childhood set the foundation for their science learning in the elementary years. In this training, participants will have many opportunities to engage in hands-on, inquiry-driven, science experiences - such as building boats, exploring magnetism, experimenting with wind and water, and constructing bridges - that model developmentally appropriate strategies for fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific exploration in preschool children.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Review the PTKLF Science domain for children aged three to five-and-a-half years.

2. Build an understanding of the Science domain.

3. Learn how the PTKLF are representative and inclusive of children's cultures, languages, and lived experiences.

4. Identify how teachers can support children’s learning and development in science.
