Phonological awareness for young children is all about playing with sounds! Noticing and being able to manipulate the sounds of spoken language is highly related to later success in reading and spelling, so exposing young children to purposely designed opportunities is a need and opportunity that teachers must not miss. Developmentally appropriate practice for phonological awareness activities include games, songs, riddles and drama, etc. Come and engage yourself in phonological fun!
