This California Preschool Instructional Network workshop demonstrates the importance of how embedding active phsyical play throghout the preschool day promotes children's ability to attend, learn, and regulate their emotional responses. Active phsyical play not only enhances the body's physiological functions, it promotes optimal brain chemistry for school readiness and self regulation.

Participants will:

Become aware of the three substands: Active Participantion, Cardiovascular Endurance and Muscular Stenghtn, Muscular Endurance and Flexibility
Learn strategies to support the development of active play
Reflect on how to increase children’s participation in ways that are purposeful and meaningful
